Dining to suit every taste...

Enjoy a taste of award-winning food, made the way you like it.

One of the highlights of a Fred. Olsen cruise is the food. Expert chefs produce great dishes night after night. Every day menus are something special, with appetisers like herb-marinated salmon or crab cocktail and indulgent main courses like sirloin steak with a choice of sauces, pan seared red snapper with scallops, slow roast duckling confit or balsamic braised lamb shank.

Of course there are vegetarian dishes and healthy choices too, with an emphasis on fish dishes inspired by their Norwegian heritage; so even if you’re watching your diet, you’re in for a treat!

The desserts are every bit as tasty (think white chocolate parfait or mango apple tart) and the sugar free option means no-one has to miss out.

Dining at sea is a special occasion every day.

With breakfasts to suit every diet, deliciously tempting soups, beautifully prepared main courses, and desserts designed to test even the strongest willpower, meals on board your chosen Fred. Olsen cruise ship are delectable and plentiful.

When the sun’s shining, tuck into a buffet breakfast, take lunch al fresco, and then enjoy a casual or elegant evening dinner.

The choice is all yours: eat wherever your taste buds take you. The chefs are passionate about food, so wherever and whenever you choose to eat you'll be assured of the same high quality. The five-course al la carte dinner always offers something to suit everyone's taste, and most diets can also be catered for.

Meet new people and make new friends, try different dishes prepared with care by on board chefs, all washed down with a delicious glass of cold white or ruby red wine.

Come on board and join a Fred. Olsen cruise ship and experience all this and more. From waiters who just know your favourite dish or how you like your meat cooked, to the special parade of Baked Alaska at the end of your cruise, dining with Fred. Olsen is a fabulous culinary memory that have you wanting more.

Start the day the Fred. Olsen way

Whether you have a full day of sight seeing and shore tours, or are planning to simply take it easy, you should always start the day with a hearty breakfast. Breakfast will be served in restaurants from 7.15 - 10 am daily (please check your Daily Times once on board for exact timings in each restaurant).

You may choose to serve yourself from the delicious buffet where options range from the usual cereals, porridge and fresh fruit, to typical cooked breakfast items. Or, you may prefer to be served by waiters from a menu which includes made to order options such as omelettes, kedgeree, kippers, French toast and American pancakes. All served with a plentiful supply of coffee, tea and toast.

Alternatively, if you're looking to take it really easy, you can opt to stay in your room and have breakfast in bed, taking advantage of the room service option, which is available to all guests. This can be pre ordered each night in your room before you go to bed, and includes pastries, toast, cereals, yoghurt, tea, coffee and fruit juices.

For those guests on warmer cruises, buffet style breakfasts are served out on deck (weather permitting) and offer the same tasty options.

There's always time for tea

Premium Traditional Afternoon Tea service – a further enhancement of the on board cruise experience, offers just that. Guests who take advantage of this service will enjoy views from the stylish Observatory Lounge with musical accompaniment from on board pianist and other classical musicians. A selection of premium teas from Taylors of Harrogate will be offered, served in porcelain pots, along with elegant finger sandwiches, dainty pastries and warm scones with jam and cream.

With the service proving popular, guests are asked to pre-book once on board their cruise ship, by contacting Guest Services or the Observatory Lounge Manager.

This is truly a civilised and enjoyable way to experience traditional afternoon tea: exactly how afternoon tea should be done!

Please note: This service incurs a nominal fee

This service supplements existing tea service, which will continue as usual on all Fred. Olsen cruise ships.

Not forgetting there is a standard daily afternoon tea service offering some delicious sandwich and cake options to tempt you further. So, if you fancy a mid-afternoon snack, pop along and sample these tasty treats.

Still peckish?

For those guests who are still hungry and are looking for a post dinner snack, or maybe missed the main dining time due to a late return to the ship; a late night buffet is offered.

Served daily in the Palms Cafè, Secret Garden Cafè or Braemar Garden Cafè from around 11pm serving both hot and cold buffet options to tempt you, come and see if you can squeeze in another morsel, you might surprise yourself - the choices are varied and delicious and will test your willpower to the limit! (Check your Daily Times once on board for exact timings).
